Who we are

The firm Cantini starts its activity in 1944 as a small craftsman workshop located in the heart of Florence, in one of the most characteristic districts of town, San Niccolò, in the historical Stiozzi-Ridolfi palace. After having soon become a landmark for the town's fashion, mainly due to the wisdom and enterprising skills of its founder Vezio Cantini for many years president of the local craftsmen association, the Cantini firm started to expand to the domestic market first and exporting to key markets like Japan and the States the taste and elegance of made in Florence fashion.
Taking in consideration quality and tradition as merchandising philosophy it has worked since the 50's in conjunction with some of the best department and specialty stores in the States, like Lord and Taylor, Bonwit Teller, Marshall Field, White House and Hardy, B.Altman, Macy's, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys among others. In Japan we are proud to have been supplying Matzuzakaya, for over 30 years now.

The brand derives from the old family crest: a tower surmounted by a flying flag whitch well transmits the values of tradition, modernity and evolution peculiar of the firm. Cantini is presently managed by Emilio, Vezio Cantini's son, who has been able to renovate and expand the firm in keeping all those traditional values of elegance, craftmanship and fashion taste that have always market the uniqueness and success of the enterprise. Mr. Cantini contributes personally to the creation of the collections which are developed twice a year in conjunction with Pitti Uomo, the leading and most important show for men's fashion.

The exclusive and original designs, woven with state-of-the-art and updated technology in the best mills in the Como area, blends latest fashion trends with refined tradition. Beside developing its own lines, Cantini produces ties under some of the most prestigious private labels, which place their trust into Cantini's correctness, reliability and know-how.
